CID4 Attends BIO International Convention

CID4 management recently attended the 2011 BIO International Convention, on June 27-30 in Washington, D.C. CID4’s goals for attending BIO, the largest biotechnology event in the world, were to:

  • Continue introducing the CID4 concept to the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and life science investor communities
  • Connect CID4’s current portfolio companies, as well as companies and inventors who submitted information to the CID4 Innovation Database (submit your company and/or technology information HERE), to potential partners, licensees and investors, and
  • Convene with other organizations with similar goals as CID4 to determine best practices for technology selection, funding and industry support
A partial listing of meetings held includes:

Industry Partners: Bayer, Astellas, Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Novartis Animal Health, Dendreon, MannKind, Elanco, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health, Sanofi Pasteur, Virbac Laboratories, Bioniche Life Sciences, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Zophis, Merck Sorono, Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Intervet – Schering Plough Animal Health

VC’s & IB’s: RBC Healthcare Investment Banking, Inverness Advisors, Research Corporation Technologies, SAIC, Oxford Finance

Others: Innofi Royalty, FreeMind, Action on Hearing Loss, Catalent Pharma Solutions, Canada Trade Commissioner Service, North Carolina Biotech Center, General Biologic, Medical Device Consultants, Alsace BioValley, University of Miami

The Conference proved to be a fruitful endeavor as CID4 worked tirelessly to connect portfolio companies, PeptiVir, Sophono and VetDC, as well as additional Colorado-based technologies with numerous potential partners and capital resources. In addition, other important relationships were enhanced via informal meetings, away from the highly structured and frenzied partnering platform featured at BIO. Follow-up work is underway. Add to all of the partnering work was the opportunity to continue to market the CID4 value proposition to a national and international audience, specifically its strategic asset, the enablement of industry and investors to efficiently reach into technology-rich Colorado for the finest opportunities in pre-clinical and clinical-stage companies and technologies, all aggregated within the CID4 Innovation Database. Overall, it was a great experience for CID4, its portfolio companies and Colorado bioscience as a whole.

Working on Your Behalf to Catalyze Investor/Partner Interest

CID4 is attending two important industry conferences C21 BioVentures (May 25-27) and the BIO Business Forum (June 27-30) to present venture capital investors and potential corporate partners with the technologies and opportunities that CID4 has been evaluating since our first technology solicitation in March 2010. If you would like us to present your non-confidential information and contact information to potential investors and partners during these conferences, we need your information entered into the CID4 Innovation Database as soon as possible.

Be certain to upload your entity’s business plan-related documents to CID4’s new portfolio management system (HERE: http://cid4.com/programs/application) in order to be represented at C21 BioVentures and the Bio Business Forum, two high quality partnering and investor events.

The CID4 portfolio management system streamlines the process for interested parties, such as big-pharma business development professionals and venture investors, to review the offering and value proposition of your entity and reconcile that with their needs and interests. In addition to making the process mechanically easier we have also made it faster and more efficient, and thus CID4 can quickly yet thoroughly present your work to a much broader array of parties.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the mechanics of this process I urge you to contact me (720-859-4046 or richard.duke@cid4.com) or Adam Rubenstein (303.902.4413 or arubenstein@cid4.com) to schedule a meeting so that we can assist you in uploading your information.
