When is a new website not just your run of the mill website? Well … when that website happens to be CID4’s new website.
Launched on 1 July 2011, the new CID4.com is a virtual “office in the cloud” that enables the management team to maximize efficiencies while catalyzing the growth of the early-stage Colorado life science community. How can a website do all that, you ask? Good question, here is a closer look at some of the new functionality.
On the homepage you will find a blog, regularly refreshed, focusing on news about CID4, its portfolio companies and related activities in the Colorado life science cluster. Don’t have time to visit the site every week? Not to fret, in the side-rail is a quick and simple signup to have posts and related content delivered straight to your inbox.
Within the Programs tab you will discover more detail about how CID4 serves the Colorado life science ecosystem, as well as a Submit Application tab. This functionality enables the CID4 management team to evolve from its previous biannual Request For Proposals process to an enhanced and streamlined rolling process, allowing the entrepreneurial community to submit proposals year-round, any day, any time. The new submission mechanism creates efficiencies not simply on the proposal submission side, but also on the review and diligence side conducted by both CID4 management and the Technical and Business Advisory Committee (TBAC). The CID4 dBase also provides an effective platform for CID4 to uniformly share information and opportunities with industry partners and institutional investors. In addition, the CID4 dBase will yield access to the CID4 Life Science Network (LSN), a Colorado angel investment group currently in development. Members of the CID4 LSN will be able to access the CID4 dBase for review of deal flow and to collaborate on angel investment opportunities.
Another unique element is Community Office Hours, dubbed oHours. Periodically an oHours session will be announced where the CID4 team is available to meet with community members to address whatever is on your mind, fielding questions from experimental design, intellectual property, company creation, you name it. oHours may also bring in guest hosts such as service providers, executives, scientists, or politicians to present on the relevant topic du jour.
Lest us not forget our social-media! CID4 remains ever vigilant in incorporating all of the most relevant and popular social destinations for the delivery of its informative content, we want to reach you no matter your communication preference. You will find us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn. In addition to our email subscription option there is a RSS subscription feed. We are also deploying the social calendaring system Plancast to help you remain abreast of CID4-related happenings.
Above all else, the mission of CID4 is about service to our life science entrepreneurial community, and you will find that the new CID4.com site echoes that mission of community service.
